    Ashbourne: The Ultimate Derbyshire Destination

Little has changed in Ashbourne since the 18th Century and it is one of Derbyshire’s finest old market towns, combining a medieval street pattern and historic buildings with a wealth of high quality shops. The cobbled market place, hidden alleys and yards are a delight to explore, and the wide and elegant Church Street is considered to be the finest street of Georgian buildings in Derbyshire.

Simply the Best Service in Town

Now here is your chance to tell us where the best is by voting for the first class customer service offered in Ashbourne.

After three successful and highly competitive annual competitions with residents voting for their High Street Heroes in literally their hundreds, the Ashbourne Partnership is delighted to announce with support from Smith Cooper to host its 4th annual campaign and continued support from the Ashbourne News Telegraph to host the campaign again this year.

This year we have six categories in total and a new one which allows us to recognise and award the professional businesses who provide those vital services to both local companies and local residents and are hidden heroes of our high streets.

The Ashbourne Partnership, Smith Cooper and Ashbourne News Telegraph want you to nominate your top six champions during April and May.  Nomination forms are available in the Ashbourne News Telegraph paper and within participating shops. Look for the poster in the window for participating shops.

Shamim Akhtar, Partner at Smith Cooper’s Ashbourne office said “Smith Cooper is delighted to be associated with this year’s High Street Heroes Awards. We are fortunate in Ashbourne to have such a wide choice of shops, from somewhere to do the weekly grocery shop, buy  a special gift, have a  hair cut, to somewhere to enjoy  a cup of tea or coffee with friends and family.  Wherever you go though, good customer service makes all the difference. But we are also aware that there are excellent professional companies that provide services that don’t have a “shop front” as such and we are keen for them to become involved in this year’s awards”

Sarah Wolfe, Coordinator of the Ashbourne Partnership said “When you talk about customer service, it doesn’t only mean serving the customer but to provide a pleasant experience overall.  Hopefully we can promote our excellent businesses whether they are a shop or a company and continue to support local trade within Ashbourne”.

All you have to do is complete the entry form on page xx and this year one lucky shopper will be chosen out of a hat and have the chance to win a £50 voucher and two runners up £30 each to spend locally.

Entry forms are to be returned to either the Ashbourne Partnership at 5 Town Hall Yard, Market Place; Ashbourne News Telegraph, 6 Market Place, or Ashbourne Tourist Information Office, Market Place.

CLOSING DATE IS Friday 25 May 2012 and good luck!
